Sobrii estote, vigilate. Adversarius vester Diabolus tamquam leo rugiens circuit quaerens quem devoret.

Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Bądźcie trzeźwi! Czuwajcie! Przeciwnik wasz, diabeł, jak lew ryczący krąży szukając kogo pożreć.

Quod si Spiritus eius, qui suscitavit Iesum a mortuis, habitat in vobis, qui suscitavit Iesum Christum a mortuis vivificabit et mortalia corpora vestra propter inhabitantem Spiritum eius in vobis.

If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit that dwells in you.

A jeżeli mieszka w was Duch Tego, który Jezusa wskrzesił z martwych, to Ten, co wskrzesił Chrystusa z martwych, przywróci do życia wasze śmiertelne ciała mocą mieszkającego w was swego Ducha.

I do not seek my own glory; there is one who seeks it and he is the one who judges.

Ja nie szukam własnej chwały. Jest Ktoś, kto jej szuka i sądzi.

I tell you, if you do not repent, you will all perish as they did!

ne forte ad nihilum redigas me.

You know, O Lord, that man is not master of his way;
Man’s course is not within his choice, nor is it for him to direct his step.
Punish us, O Lord, but with equity, not in anger,
lest you have us dwindle away.

Convertimini, convertimini a viis vestris pessimis.

As I live, says the Lord God, I swear I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked man, but rather in the wicked man’s conversion, that he may live. Turn, turn from your evil ways!

Na moje życie! - wyrocznia Pana Boga.

Seduxisti me, Domine, et seductus sum;
fortior me fuisti et invaluisti.

You duped me, o Lord, and I let myself be duped;
you were too strong for me, and you triumphed.

ujarzmiłeś mnie i przemogłeś.

There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord;there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit. To one is given through the Spirit the expression of wisdom; to another the expression of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit; to another mighty deeds; to another prophecy; to another discernment of spirits; to another varieties of tongues; to another interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing them individually to each person as he wishes.

Machabaeorum II 12,44-46

1 February 2007 at 9:13 (Bible, Bible Quotes, Bible Translations, Bible Verses, Biblia, Christianity, Latin, Lingua Latina, Old Testament, Quotations, Quotes, Quotes For Thought, Quotes from the Bible, Religion, Vulgata Clementina)

For if he were not expecting the fallen to rise again, it would have been useless and foolish to pray for them in death. But if he did this with a view to the splendid reward that awaits those who had gone to rest in godliness, it was a holy and pious thought. Thus he made atonement for the dead that they might be freed from this sin.

Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted and you yourself a sword will pierce so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

None of us lives for oneself, and no one dies for oneself. For if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord; so then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. For this is why Christ died and came to life, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

I w życiu więc i w śmierci należymy do Pana.
